Templar Media reveals Gate Zero combat gameplay and 2027 release

Templar Media has unveiled the first combat gameplay trailer for its upcoming action-adventure title, Gate Zero. Revealed at Gamescom, the footage showcases the game's mechanics and its unique setting, the EON World—a dimension where time and space are corrupted.

Set in a semi-open world, the story follows Max, a teenager from a dystopian future who travels to ancient Israel. The narrative blends science fiction with biblical history, allowing players to explore historically researched locations such as Galilee, Capernaum, Cana, the Jordan River, and Jerusalem. The game aims to depict first-century life and major biblical events through Max's perspective during the Roman Empire's occupation.

Developed using Unreal Engine 5, Gate Zero features a gameplay loop that combines direct combat, stealth, dialogue, and puzzle-solving. Players must battle enemies known as the Kairos to preserve the timeline and find a way back to the future. The game is scheduled for release in Spring 2027 on Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
