Tempo Scan Group launches clean water initiative for drought-stricken regions

Tempo Scan Group has launched the ‘Tempo Scan Air Bersih untuk Indonesia’ initiative to combat extreme drought conditions affecting various regions in Indonesia. Running from August to September 2026, the program aims to distribute 640,000 liters of clean water to 40 priority locations across Java and Sumatra.

Targeted areas include South Sumatra, Banten, Central Java, East Java, and Yogyakarta. The company is collaborating with the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) to identify high-need areas and ensure the water reaches the intended communities effectively.

The initiative comes as the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) reports that approximately 76.5% of Indonesia's land area reached the peak of the dry season in early August 2026, with an additional 25.41% expected to peak in September. Groundwater availability in parts of Sumatra and Java has reached ‘Awas’ (Alert) and ‘Waspada’ (Watch) categories, threatening access to water for drinking, cooking, and hygiene.
