Alessandro Medici, former Temptation Island contestant, dies at 53

Alessandro Medici, a former contestant on the 2020 edition of Italy’s reality show Temptation Island, died suddenly on 16 July 2026 at the age of 53. The death, reported as a probable heart attack, was first noted by local witnesses and confirmed by his former partner Sofia Calesso, who posted a black‑and‑white photo of Medici with his dog and wrote on Instagram, “Vivrai sempre dentro di me”.

Medici was from Castel del Piano in the province of Grosseto and was known for his participation in the mixed‑celebrity edition of the show, where he met several future TV personalities. After his death, fellow former contestants Antonella Elia, Pietro Delle Piane, Manila Nazzaro, Lorenzo Amoruso and others shared tributes, describing him as kind, generous and beloved.

He leaves behind his mother, siblings, two children (Christian and Giulia) and three grandchildren. The funeral is scheduled for 18 July in his hometown.
