Tempus AI posts 22% Q2 revenue rise, secures new institutional stake

Tempus AI reported second‑quarter revenue of $382.5 million, a 22% increase year over year, driven by a 20% rise in diagnostics revenue to $289.3 million and a 28% jump in data and apps revenue to $93.2 million. The company posted GAAP net income of $5.6 million and adjusted EBITDA of $8 million, improving $13.6 million from the prior year. CEO Eric Lefkofsky highlighted accelerated testing volumes, higher algorithm attachment rates for solid‑tumor tests (up to 45%), and the launch of the whole‑genome offering GenomeNext for rare disease. During the quarter the firm received FDA approval for its tumor‑only xT CDx test, which is expected to lift average selling prices by about $200.

Institutional investors added to the momentum: Avidity Partners Management LP bought a new position of 25,000 shares valued at roughly $1.13 million, while other funds such as Aberdeen Group, Pictet Asset Management, Bogart Wealth, Eagle Health Investments and Alethea Capital also increased their holdings in Tempus AI.
