Tems and Tyla receive 2026 Soul Train Award nominations

Nigerian singer-songwriter Tems and South African artist Tyla have both received nominations for the 2026 Soul Train Awards. Both artists are competing in the R&B/Soul Song of the Year category, with Tems nominated for ‘What You Need’ and Tyla for her hit single ‘Chanel’.

Tems has also earned a nomination in the newly introduced Spotify RNB X International Artist category, which recognizes performers expanding the global reach of R&B. This category is decided via voting within the Spotify app.

The Soul Train Awards, which return after a three-year hiatus, will feature fan-voted categories. Voting for Song of the Year opens on October 16 via the BET website. The winners will be announced during a telecast on November 27, 2026.
