Temu expands Japanese food offerings with domestic suppliers

The e-commerce platform Temu is expanding its presence in the Japanese market by increasing the number of domestic food suppliers on its platform. Following a local merchant recruitment program launched in May 2025, the platform now offers a variety of Japanese products, ranging from daily necessities to regional specialties.

Key participating businesses include Matsuya Foods, which offers frozen items like beef bowls and curry, and regional producers such as JA Tendou Foods from Yamagata Prefecture, which provides seasonal fruits and jellies. Other featured suppliers include Minato Dining Shiosou from Fukui Prefecture, specializing in seafood, and Makuseisha from Gifu Prefecture, which offers dairy products like yogurt and mozzarella cheese.

To coincide with this expansion, Temu is hosting an ‘Autumn Thanksgiving’ campaign throughout September, offering discounts of up to 50% on selected items.
