Temu expands product testing via internal logistics labs

Temu is expanding its proactive product inspection measures by integrating internal laboratory testing within the warehouses of its logistics partners. This initiative follows an independent audit by Bureau Veritas, which confirmed that these laboratories possess the technical capability to conduct product tests according to selected European standards.

The testing process is being integrated into Temu’s fulfillment workflows to identify potential compliance issues before products are shipped to customers. Bureau Veritas evaluated the laboratories' equipment, facilities, technical personnel, workflows, and quality assurance systems to ensure they meet necessary technical requirements.

Currently, the laboratories are conducting spot checks on selected products, including electrical safety assessments for electronic devices, quality inspections for textiles, and safety standard compliance for toys. These warehouse-based inspections serve as a supplement to existing pre-listing controls and ongoing post-sale monitoring.
