Temu LED toy recalled due to risk of permanent vision damage
A product recall has been issued for a battery-operated, flashing LED plastic excavator toy sold exclusively on the Temu online marketplace. The toy, branded as ‘random engineeri’ (Product ID: id601103548329489, Batch: 20250702), poses a risk of serious and potentially permanent vision damage.
According to warnings from the National Consumer Protection Authority and the European Union’s Safety Gate system, the blue LED light source at the base of the machine emits radiation and intensity levels that significantly exceed permitted health limits. If a child looks directly into the light while playing, it could cause severe retinal damage.
Parents are urged to immediately remove the toy from children, remove the batteries, and cease all use. Temu is reportedly notifying registered purchasers directly regarding refunds.
