Temuco Firefighters' Decima Company Marks 29 Years of Service

The Decima Company of the Cuerpo de Bomberos de Temuco celebrated its 29th anniversary at its Labranza station. The ceremony, led by company director Handel Sepúlveda Tapia, gathered current volunteers, families, local authorities and representatives from sister companies, including one from Niebla, Valdivia. Sepúlveda highlighted the company's origins dating back to 14 July 1962 when neighbourhood residents formed the Brigada de Labranza, its first truck purchased in 1965, the construction of a dedicated quarter in 1985, and official recognition in 1997 under the motto “Sacrificio y abnegación.”

The company now counts 54 volunteers, seven cadets and three aspirants. Awards were presented for long‑service milestones: five years to Carmen Luz Soto Montesinos, fifteen years to treasurer Patricio Sandoval Pinto, twenty years to honorary firefighter Guillermo Héctor Martínez Vargas and forty years to Hernán Millahual Chihuaillán.
