Temus invests in Philippines' Thinking Machines to boost Southeast Asian AI

Singapore‑based Temus, a digital transformation company founded with backing from Temasek, announced a strategic investment in Philippines‑headquartered Thinking Machines Data Science. The deal will see Thinking Machines operate under its existing brand as “Thinking Machines Data Science, a Temus entity.” Founder and CEO Stephanie Sy will retain leadership of the company and join Temus’ senior team as managing director for applied AI and data. Temus, which employs about 500 staff, will contribute its cloud, application‑engineering and consulting capabilities, while Thinking Machines brings a decade of experience building data platforms and deploying production‑grade AI systems for financial services, retail, conglomerates and the civic sector across Southeast Asia. The partnership aims to move AI projects beyond pilot phases and integrate them into enterprise workflows throughout the region.
