Ten Ways to Die Happy debuts at Edinburgh Fringe

The interactive production ‘Ten Ways to Die Happy’ has debuted at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Produced by Sisifo Production and Emilia Romagna Teatro, the show is an adaptation of the Italian play ‘Dieci Modi Per Morire Felici’, which was developed at the Fondazione Teatri di Reggio Emilia.

Written by Emanuele Aldrovandi and Jacopo Giacomoni, the performance functions as an interactive quiz game. Audience members are randomly selected to participate, adopting new identities and traits generated by a computer. Participants are given a pile of flowers representing their time and vitality; as they face life obstacles and plot twists presented by the quizmaster, played by Perla Ambrosini, their flowers are consumed.

The production aims to explore themes of happiness, life choices, and social inequality through a dynamic, participatory format. Following a successful tour in Italy, the show is scheduled to run at Underbelly’s Cowbarn through August 31.
