Ten Yamasaki stars in new drama ‘Death (Youth) Game’

The new drama series ‘Death (Youth) Game’ premiered on September 5, starring Sakurazaka46 member Ten Yamasaki in her first leading role. The story follows Akane Ochiai, a high school student who seeks the truth behind the sudden death of her best friend, Chiaki Kiryu.

As Akane and her classmates investigate the circumstances surrounding the death and face lack of transparency from school authorities, the narrative shifts toward themes of suspicion and revenge. The series explores the complexities of youth through a lens of grief and social media leaks.

The band Abspann, led by vocalist and guitarist Saye, provides the series' theme song, ‘Houkago bitter blue’. The rock-inspired track was written specifically for the drama to reflect the characters' perspectives and is scheduled for digital release on September 6.
