Tenancingo faces additional financial audit by OSFEM

The Órgano Superior de Fiscalización del Estado de México (OSFEM) has expanded its 2026 audit program to include an additional financial compliance review (ACF-180) for the municipality of Tenancingo. This follows the existing legality audit (AL-062) for the 2025 fiscal year. The decision, issued via Agreement 06/2026 by Superior Auditor Liliana Dávalos Ham, aims to address identified risk areas and prioritize public interest through increased oversight of public resources.

The expanded audit comes amid legal scrutiny involving Tenancingo’s mayor, Nancy “N”. According to the Fiscalía General de Justicia del Estado de México (FGJEM), the mayor is under investigation regarding an alleged simulated kidnapping intended to recover a 40 million peso embezzlement. The updated audit program, which increases the total number of municipal audits to 91, was published in the ‘Gaceta del Gobierno’ on September 4, 2026.
