Tencent Cloud to launch first Malaysian Cloud Region in Johor

Tencent Cloud has announced its first Cloud Region in Malaysia, which will be located in Johor and consist of up to three availability zones. This expansion aims to support the growing demand for AI-powered workflows and digital services in the region.

As part of this initiative, Tencent Cloud is collaborating with several local partners to deepen its AI footprint. These include fintech company Boost and Genting Plantations Group, with whom the company will explore integrating AI agents into business processes. Additionally, a partnership with Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) has been established to train over 1,000 digital and AI professionals in the coming years.

The company also showcased its AI product suite, including the WorkBuddy agentic AI workspace and the Hunyuan Hy3 model, designed to assist enterprises in transitioning from AI experimentation to production-ready deployment.
