Tenerife advances bus station infrastructure and urban redevelopment projects

The Cabildo de Tenerife has awarded a contract to CIVIL 4, S. L. for the drafting of a rehabilitation project for the Güímar bus station. The project, valued at 49,926 euros, is expected to take four months to complete. The technical document will outline necessary modernizations, including roof repairs, restroom renovations, electrical installation updates, and improvements to docking areas and accessibility to meet the needs of approximately 2,500 daily users.

In Puerto de la Cruz, the municipal government is preparing for the demolition of the old bus station on El Pozo Street. The project, estimated to cost 5.6 million euros, will be funded entirely by the municipality after a planned 1.5 million euro allocation from the Government of the Canary Islands did not reach the City Council. The site, which has been closed since 2008 due to structural issues, will be transformed into a multifunctional space featuring 900 parking spaces across four levels, public and private buildings, and a large public plaza.
