Tenerife highlights historical architecture and high-altitude vineyards

Tenerife features diverse historical and agricultural landscapes, ranging from the architectural heritage of La Orotava to the high-altitude vineyards of Vilaflor de Chasna.

La Orotava, located in the north of the island, is a designated Historical-Artistic Site. The town is characterized by cobblestone streets, wooden balconies, and manor houses. Its urban development was heavily influenced by topography and water access, which supported historical mills, public washhouses, and crops such as grapes and malvasia.

In the southern mountains, Vilaflor de Chasna stands as one of the highest municipalities in Spain. The area is home to the Los Frontones estate, which is noted for containing the highest vineyard in Europe, with vines planted at altitudes between 1,100 and 1,600 meters. The region's economy is shaped by its cool, dry climate, supporting the cultivation of potatoes, almonds, and grapes.
