Tenerife hosts 2026 Employment Fair amid record low unemployment

The Cabildo de Tenerife, through the Insular Foundation for Training, Employment, and Business Development (FIFEDE), has launched a new edition of the 2026 Employment Fair. Held at the Recinto Ferial in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the event serves as a direct connection point between local companies and job seekers, including students and young people.

The fair featured participation from over 80 companies and attracted more than 3,000 attendees. During the inauguration, Rosa Dávila, President of the Cabildo de Tenerife, noted that the island's unemployment rate fell to 8.7% in the first quarter of 2026, the lowest in 19 years and below the Spanish national average of 10.8%.

Dávila specifically highlighted improvements in youth employment, stating that the youth unemployment rate has dropped to 13%, compared to over 36% in 2023. This represents a reduction of 48,000 unemployed individuals on the island over the last three years.
