Tenerife man accepts 38-year prison sentence for killing brother

A man in Tenerife has accepted a total sentence of 38 years in prison for the killing of his dependent brother and the severe assault of his sister. The sentence consists of 22.5 years for the homicide and 15.5 years for the assault.

The incidents occurred in the Los Baldíos neighborhood of La Laguna in September 2024. The defendant, who was residing in his mother's home, reportedly had long-standing friction with his sister regarding the care of their mother.

As part of the agreement, the man is ordered to remain at least 10 years away from the Los Baldíos neighborhood after his release from prison to ensure the safety of his sister, who still resides there.
