Tenerife reports bus vandalism and garbage‑truck fire near children’s home

A Transportes Interurbanos de Tenerife (Titsa) bus on the 908 urban line was vandalised in Santa Cruz, with damage recorded by on‑board cameras. Union representatives said the incident could lead to penalties of up to €6,000, but services continued to operate.

Separately, a garbage‑truck accident in El Tablero caused an electrical line to be ripped down, sparking a fire that burned about 150 m² near the Aldeas Infantiles children’s centre. Firefighters contained the blaze, but the incident disrupted local electricity supply and prompted emergency police and medical response.

Both events highlight safety and security challenges for public services on the island of Tenerife.
