Tenerife TF-5 highway closure between Icod and El Tanque

The Cabildo de Tenerife will close a section of the TF-5 highway, part of the Anillo Insular, between Icod de los Vinos and El Tanque for approximately two weeks to perform road surface rehabilitation.

Work is scheduled to begin with nighttime closures on August 30 and 31, between 22:00 and 06:00, to allow for surface regularization. Starting September 1, the closure will extend to daytime hours to facilitate the application of cold micro-aggregate. Roads Minister Dámaso Arteaga stated the daytime requirement is due to technical necessity, as specific environmental conditions are required for the material to consolidate correctly.

The closure affects the stretch between kilometer points 50+900 and 62+200, including access to Icod via the Buen Paso roundabout, the El Amparo junction, and the entrance to El Tanque. Drivers traveling between the north and south of Tenerife are advised to use alternative routes, specifically the TF-42 and TF-82 highways.
