Tennessee and Alabama agree to home jersey tradition

The University of Tennessee and the University of Alabama have reached an agreement to restore a historic tradition for their upcoming ‘Third Saturday in October’ matchups. For the 2026 and 2027 seasons, both programs will wear their respective home jerseys during their rivalry games.

In 2026, Alabama will wear its crimson home jerseys at Neyland Stadium. In 2027, Tennessee will wear its orange home jerseys at Bryant-Denny Stadium. This marks the first time since 1970 that the rivalry has featured both teams in their classic home colors. The agreement was made in coordination with both university administrations, their head coaches, and the Southeastern Conference.
