Tennessee animal rescue saves over 140 animals from hoarding
The Animal Rescue Corps (ARC) has completed a massive rescue operation in Rutherford County, Tennessee, saving more than 140 animals from a severe hoarding situation. The rescued group included 133 Chihuahuas, 12 cats, and one large dog.
Rescuers described the conditions at the property as overwhelming and critical. The animals were living in extreme overcrowding and filth, with floors covered in layers of feces and debris. Many animals suffered from significant health issues, including respiratory diseases, eye infections, parasites, and untreated dental infections.
Named ‘Operation Little Dogs, Big Hearts’, the rescue prioritized the most vulnerable animals, such as pregnant dogs, nursing mothers, and injured pets. ARC Executive Director Tim Woodward stated that the immediate priority was moving the animals in crisis to safety while ensuring the remaining animals were rescued humanely.
