Tennessee defeats Auburn 24-14 behind DeSean Bishop's career performance

No. 17 Tennessee overcame a first-half deficit to defeat Auburn 24-14 at Neyland Stadium. Running back DeSean Bishop led the Volunteers with a career-high 220 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 34 carries.

After a sluggish start that left Tennessee trailing 7-3 at halftime, head coach Josh Heupel benched starting quarterback Faizon Brandon in favor of George MacIntyre. MacIntyre provided a spark, completing 8 of 10 passes for 86 yards to help drive the offense.

The Tennessee defense, coordinated by Jim Knowles, remained a dominant force. Safety Dejuan Lane recorded nine tackles, two sacks, and a crucial third-quarter interception that set up a Bishop touchdown. The victory moves Tennessee up to No. 14 in the AFCA Coaches poll and No. 15 in the Associated Press Top 25.
