Tennessee football faces injury crisis and schedule shifts
The Tennessee Volunteers football program is facing significant roster challenges due to a surge in injuries and upcoming schedule adjustments. Four games into the 2026 season, six players have already been ruled out for the remainder of the year, including starters Edrees Farooq, Jaedon Harmon, Joakim Dodson, Ethan Davis, Dylan Lewis, and most recently, left guard Wendell Moe Jr.
As the team prepares to face the Auburn Tigers, edge rusher Kedric Golston II is also confirmed to miss the matchup. While the team has depth options at the position, the cumulative loss of key players impacts the rotation.
Separately, Tennessee has announced schedule changes for the 2027 and 2028 seasons to align with a new NCAA rule establishing a uniform 14-week regular season. This shift moves several home games, including matchups against Georgia Tech and West Virginia, to earlier dates in August to accommodate the new standard Week 1 schedule.
