Tennessee Titans postpone Chris Johnson Ring of Honor induction
The Tennessee Titans have postponed the official Ring of Honor induction ceremony for former running back Chris Johnson due to ‘unforeseen circumstances.’ The team stated that Johnson and his family are unable to travel to Nashville for the scheduled event during the Week 1 matchup against the New York Jets.
Johnson, 40, is currently battling amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), a progressive nervous system disease. He recently shared his diagnosis publicly, noting that while the condition has changed his physical capabilities, he intends to fight the disease.
Despite the postponement of the official induction, the Titans will still hold a halftime ceremony during Sunday's game to celebrate Johnson’s on-field achievements and legacy. The organization expressed its support for Johnson and his wife, Brittany, and intends to reschedule the formal induction for a future date.
