Tennessee Volunteers to honor Dolly Parton with game-day tributes

The Tennessee Volunteers football program is planning multiple tributes to honor the late Dolly Parton during their upcoming game at Neyland Stadium. Following her passing in Nashville, the athletic department has announced several ways to recognize the East Tennessee icon.

Head coach Josh Heupel announced that the team will wear special Dolly Parton-themed stickers on the back of their helmets for the entire season. Additionally, athletic director Danny White indicated that tributes will occur throughout the game, including a halftime performance by the Pride of the Southland band and a special musical tribute during the fourth-quarter introduction.

Social media tributes from the university have featured Parton’s 1973 song, ‘My Tennessee Mountain Home’. The program aims to celebrate her immense impact on the state and her deep roots in East Tennessee.
