Tennessee voters report voting machine errors during early voting

Voters in Tennessee's Madison and Williamson counties have reported issues with voting machines allegedly switching selections from Democratic candidates to Republican candidates. Stella Parton, sister of country music icon Dolly Parton, claimed she had to correct her ballot three times at the Hermitage Library because the machine repeatedly defaulted to Republican Senator Marsha Blackburn.

Other voters, including Jackie Herrud in Spring Hill, reported similar experiences where machines displayed Republican candidates instead of their intended Democratic selections. The Jackson-Madison County NAACP and other community organizations have raised concerns regarding these reports and encouraged voters to carefully review their ballots.

Tennessee election officials have disputed allegations of deliberate tampering. Madison County Administrator of Elections Megan Duncan stated that no changes have been made to voter ballots and noted that machines undergo extensive testing by both Republicans and Democrats prior to use. Officials suggest such reports may stem from human error or touchscreen alignment issues rather than systemic rigging.
