Tennessee woman paralyzed after man falls from tree at Louisville music festival

A Tennessee woman, Jamie Ulshoffer, was left paralyzed from the waist down following an accident at the Louder Than Life Festival in Louisville, Kentucky. The incident occurred on Friday, September 18, at the Kentucky Exposition Center during a performance by the band Knocked Loose.

According to reports, a man fell from a tree and landed directly on Ulshoffer, resulting in a severed spinal cord. Ulshoffer was transported to the University of Louisville Hospital, where she is currently recovering. She has stated that she cannot feel her feet and faces significant uncertainty regarding her future mobility.

Ulshoffer’s husband, Conor, described the sudden nature of the event, noting that bystanders informed them a man had fallen from the tree. While Ulshoffer expressed that the climber made a “stupid decision,” particularly following recent rain, she stated she would forgive him. The festival’s production team declined to comment on the incident, citing patient privacy. It remains unclear if any legal or criminal charges will be filed.
