Tennis players see mixed results in US Open qualifying

Serbian and Croatian tennis players saw mixed results during the US Open qualifying rounds. Serbian Dušan Lajović advanced to the final qualifying round after defeating Spain’s David Jordan Sanchez in straight sets, 2-0 (7-5, 7-6(2)). Mia Ristić also moved closer to the main draw, securing a 2-0 (6-1, 6-3) victory over Portugal’s Francisca Jorge in her Grand Slam debut.

In contrast, Croatian players Borna Gojo and Luka Mikrut were eliminated in the second round of qualifying. Gojo lost to China’s Bu Yunchaokete in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4, while Mikrut fell to American Nishesh Basavareddy with a score of 6-2, 6-4.
