Alcaraz and Sinner join 2027 Australian Open 1 Point Slam

Tennis stars Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner, Coco Gauff, and Naomi Osaka have confirmed their participation in the 2027 Australian Open ‘1 Point Slam’. The unique knockout event, scheduled for January 13, 2027, at Rod Laver Arena, features professionals competing against amateurs and celebrity wildcards in matches decided by a single point.

The winner of the tournament will receive a prize of 1 million Australian dollars. The event follows the success of the 2026 edition, where amateur Jordan Smith won the top prize after defeating several high-profile players, including Sinner.

Tennis Australia is organizing qualifying rounds through approximately 1,000 local clubs across the country. Winners of state championships and qualifying rounds will join the professional field for the main event during the Australian Open opening week.
