Tenor Cyrille Dubois records Benjamin Britten’s French songs

French tenor Cyrille Dubois has released a new album featuring the French compositions of Benjamin Britten. The recording, released by Aparté, includes works such as ‘Quatre Chansons Françaises’, ‘Folksongs’, and ‘Les Illuminations op. 18’.

This release marks the first time a French tenor has recorded ‘Les Illuminations’, a cycle originally written for soprano Sophie Wyss but frequently adapted for tenor voices. The album was recorded in April 2026 at the Arsenal Jean-Marie Rausch in Metz, featuring pianist Tristan Raës and the Orchestre national de Metz under the direction of David Reiland.
