Tenta Indoor Gymnasium to reopen in Kalamata after maintenance

The Municipality of Kalamata's Sports Department has announced that the Tenta Indoor Gymnasium will return to full operation starting the afternoon of Monday, August 31, 2026. This follows the completion of extensive maintenance, cleaning, and improvement works for both the interior and exterior areas of the facility.

Key improvements include deep cleaning of common areas, restrooms, and locker rooms, as well as cleaning of the stands and drains. Maintenance work also involved painting the perimeter of the courts, corridors, and court markings, alongside repairs to the air conditioning, plumbing, and electrical systems. Additionally, broken seating was replaced, and overgrown vegetation was cleared from the exterior.

To ensure safety and functionality, the facility has implemented new boundaries with fencing in the court areas. Access to the competitive areas is strictly limited to athletes wearing appropriate sports equipment, clothing, and footwear. The municipality has called on all users to respect the facilities and help maintain cleanliness.
