Teo Lucadamo accuses TikTok of censoring Gaza lyrics
Spanish musician Teo Lucadamo has publicly accused TikTok of censoring his music while allowing far-right and racist content to circulate on the platform. The dispute stems from a lyric in his work, ‘Estrellas del Rap Nacional’, which states: ‘In the era of connectivity, Prime Video gives you the genocide in 4K’. Lucadamo argues the line is a commentary on how war and human suffering are consumed as digital imagery alongside entertainment and advertising.
Lucadamo highlighted the discrepancy after discovering songs on the platform that contain racist expressions and calls for the return of Francisco Franco. This issue gained further attention following reports by Cadena SER regarding the spread of AI-generated songs among minors that feature homophobic, sexist, and pro-Franco sentiments. While Spotify reportedly removed one such track after reviewing its lyrics for policy violations, Lucadamo questions why his commentary on Gaza faces restrictions while hate speech remains accessible.
