Teo Nie Ching denies secret society allegations

Deputy Communications Minister Teo Nie Ching has dismissed allegations linking her to secret societies as malicious and baseless. The Kulai Member of Parliament stated that she has filed a police report and a complaint with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) regarding defamatory posts made on a Facebook account.

In addition to the gang affiliation claims, the social media account also linked her to a road accident currently under police investigation. Teo welcomed a thorough investigation by the authorities, noting that the Johor Police Chief, Datuk Ab Rahaman Arsad, previously announced the arrest of 13 suspects in a related matter.

Teo advised the public to remain rational and avoid being misled by unverified information on digital platforms, highlighting the increased risk of fake news and slander in the digital age.
