Teodor Davidov draws attention with ambidextrous style at US Open Junior
American teenager Teodor Davidov has drawn significant attention at the US Open Junior tournament for his unique ambidextrous playing style. The athlete plays without a conventional backhand, instead switching the racket to his left hand to execute forehands when receiving balls on his left side.
Davidov utilizes his ambidexterity to vary spins and increase court coverage. He is also capable of serving with either hand. While his unique technique has gained social media traction and highlighted his doubles success, he was defeated in the first round of the singles competition by South African player Connor Doig in straight sets.
