Teodor Salparov benefit match sees world legends defeat Bulgarian stars

A benefit volleyball match titled ‘One Career – One Legend’ was held at Arena Sofia to honor former Bulgarian national team libero Teodor Salparov. The event, attended by over 9,000 spectators, featured a high-profile match where a team of world volleyball legends defeated a team of Bulgarian stars with a score of 3:2.

The world legends team included prominent players such as Uros Kovacevic, Ivan Milkovic, Dante Amaral, and Simone Danesi, coached by Gianlorenzo Blengini and Alberto Giuliani. The Bulgarian stars team featured players like Nikolay Penchev and Tsvetan Sokolov, led by coaches including Radostin Stoychev.

High-ranking officials attended the event, including Bulgarian President Iliana Yotova, Sofia Mayor Vasil Terziev, and various ministers. Former Bulgarian football legends Hristo Stoichkov, Stiliyan Petrov, and Martin Petrov were also among the guests. The match consisted of five sets played to 15 points.
