TEPCO updates electricity plans for electrified homes and EV owners
TEPCO Energy Partner has announced a renewal of its electricity pricing plan for electrified homes. The new plan, titled ‘Denka Plus’, will launch on November 1, 2026. Unlike the previous version, which required customers to have solar power equipment and ‘Ohisama EcoCute’ systems, the new plan expands eligibility to include owners of electric vehicles (EV), plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEV), or heat storage devices such as EcoCute with a capacity of 1kVA or more.
The new pricing structure simplifies billing by removing fixed-rate tiers in favor of a usage-based system. The electricity rate is set at a fixed 30.63 yen per kWh. Additionally, the company is introducing enhanced services, including an ‘EV Charging Relief Pack’ to cover repairs or alternative charging costs for EV/PHEV equipment, and expanded point rewards through ‘Kurashi TEPCO Points’.
In conjunction with these changes, TEPCO Home Tech is launching the ‘Autumn/Winter Home Energy Update Program’ starting October 1, 2026. This initiative includes special pricing campaigns for EcoCute water heaters and IH cooking heaters, as well as incentives for installing solar power systems and storage batteries. The program aims to encourage energy-saving upgrades and local energy production to help households manage rising winter utility costs.
