Tepetitlán schools undergo fumigation to control mosquito plague
The National Water Commission (Conagua) has launched a fumigation campaign targeting more than 40 schools in the municipality of Tepetitlán, Hidalgo. The operation, scheduled from August 25 to August 28, aims to control the presence of the Culex mosquito in riparian communities near the Endhó Dam.
The schools involved span various educational levels, from preschool to higher education. This initiative is part of the Master Plan for the Recovery of the Endhó Dam, which seeks to address environmental conditions affecting local residents. Conagua is utilizing thermal fogging equipment to apply insecticide in both interior and exterior spaces of the campuses.
This effort follows ongoing periodic fumigation cycles in the region that began in May, targeting homes, streets, and public spaces. The campaign is being conducted in coordination with the municipal government of Tepetitlán to ensure territorial organization and effective coverage before the start of the 2026-2027 school year.
