Teplické skály to begin construction of new visitor center

Construction of a new visitor center at the Teplické skály natural site is scheduled to begin on August 24, 2026, in Střmenské podhradí. The project, which follows over a decade of preparation and a public referendum, is being executed by the Náchod-based company CE-ING.

The facility will cost 31.6 million CZK, with 12 million CZK provided by a European Union subsidy through the Ministry for Regional Development. The center is designed to improve services for tourists in one of the region's most popular natural locations.

Planned amenities include an information center with a cash desk, souvenir sales, luggage storage, and accessible public restrooms. The building will also feature a multimedia hall and a green roof terrace with views of the surrounding area. The architectural design, created by Karel Mrázek, features an elliptical shape intended to blend with the natural terrain. Completion is expected within 15 months of the start of construction.
