Teradek announces Bolt 7 wireless video and data transmission system
Teradek has announced the Bolt 7, a new generation of wireless video and data transmission systems scheduled for presentation at IBC 2026. This update introduces a unified wireless system designed to handle zero-delay 4K video alongside camera control, telemetry, and color management.
A key feature of the Bolt 7 lineup—which includes 750, 1500, and MAX models—is the integration of a 900MHz radio frequency pipeline. This technology operates in parallel with the video signal, acting as a wireless replacement for Ethernet or USB cables. By using dedicated RF pathways instead of standard Wi-Fi frequencies, the system aims to reduce interference and eliminate the need for on-set Wi-Fi networks.
The hardware improvements include a transmitter that is 20% smaller than the previous Bolt 6 XT models and a new color OLED display for improved pairing, control, and diagnostics. The system also features automated RF management via PageOS and the Bolt App, along with new battery plate cradles to facilitate faster swaps.
