Teradyne and Sereact partner to integrate Cortex AI into Universal Robots
Teradyne Robotics and AI company Sereact have announced a partnership to integrate Sereact’s physical AI platform, Cortex, into Universal Robots' cobot arms. The collaboration aims to enable robots to handle unstructured tasks, such as piece-picking and automated returns processing, within the retail, logistics, and manufacturing sectors.
By combining Sereact’s software with Universal Robots’ established hardware platform, the system is designed to manage complex material flows where items are not perfectly aligned or positioned. A practical application involves textile logistics at fulfillment centers using dual-arm UR12e-1300 cobots.
For Teradyne Robotics, the move represents a strategic shift from hardware sales toward providing intelligent software layers. Sereact will gain access to Universal Robots' international distribution and integrator network. While the platform is currently being trained using simulations and the NVIDIA toolchain, a specific rollout schedule has not yet been disclosed.
