Teramo health authorities launch World Breastfeeding Week initiatives

Local health authorities in the Teramo region of Italy, including Asl di Teramo and Ulss 2, are organizing a series of events to observe World Breastfeeding Week. Running from early October, these initiatives aim to promote breastfeeding awareness and provide practical support to families.

The program includes workshops, informational meetings, and roundtables led by multidisciplinary teams of midwives, psychologists, nutritionists, and social workers. Topics covered range from the initiation of breastfeeding and complementary feeding to the psychological aspects of parenting and the benefits of babywearing.

Specific sessions are designed to engage various demographics, including parents, grandparents, and caregivers, to foster intergenerational dialogue and dispel outdated myths through scientific evidence. These activities are hosted at family clinics in locations such as Atri, Teramo, Montorio al Vomano, Giulianova, Roseto degli Abruzzi, and Nereto. The campaign aligns with international efforts to highlight the health benefits of breastfeeding for both infants and mothers.
