Teramo Prefecture approves 19 video surveillance projects

The Provincial Committee for Public Order and Security, chaired by Teramo Prefect Beatrice Agata Mariano, has reviewed 19 projects for urban video surveillance systems. During a meeting at the Government Palace, the first nine urban security pacts were signed by representatives from Teramo, Alba Adriatica, Ancarano, Arsita, Atri, Basciano, Canzano, Castellalto, and Castelli.

These pacts are a prerequisite for accessing ministerial funds intended to install and upgrade surveillance cameras in public spaces and strategic areas. The initiative aims to strengthen urban security, increase crime prevention capabilities, and combat petty crime and urban decay. Following an initial evaluation by the Prefecture, documentation will be forwarded to the Ministry of the Interior for funding allocation.

Nationally, 156 million euros have been allocated for such projects between 2023 and June 2026, with 19 million euros designated for the current year. In 2025, seven municipalities within the province successfully secured funding.
