Teramo to hold memorial for mountaineer Marco Di Marcello

The community of Teramo will gather on Saturday, August 29, to honor Marco Di Marcello, a 27-year-old biologist and mountaineer. Di Marcello passed away on November 3 last year in Nepal after being swept away by an avalanche during an expedition toward the summit of Dolma Khang.

Following the recovery and identification of his body and subsequent cremation in Nepal, his ashes have returned to Italy. The memorial services will begin at the Parco della Scienza in Teramo between 9:00 and 12:00, followed by a celebration at the Teramo Cathedral at 16:00. In accordance with the family's wishes, attendees are encouraged to wear bright colors and smiles to celebrate his vibrant energy rather than observing traditional mourning.
