Italian unions demand public transport reforms in Teramo and Foggia

Labor unions in Italy are raising concerns regarding public transportation services in Teramo and Foggia.

In Teramo, UDU and CGIL have called for free bus services for university students and a significant overhaul of connections to Colleparco and Piano d’Accio. The unions highlighted that current subsidies are insufficient, noting that students often face high costs for both local and rail transport that are not covered by scholarships. They also pointed out critical gaps in evening service schedules near commercial areas and veterinary hubs.

In Foggia, the FIT CISL and UGL Trasporti unions have requested clarification from municipal and provincial authorities regarding the future of ATAF. The unions are seeking information on the potential in-house management of urban transport services for the 2027-2035 period. They emphasized the need for documented evidence of economic convenience and service quality to provide certainty to workers during the upcoming service assignment procedures.
