Teranga project prepares Senegalese youths for work in Lombardy

The Teranga project is facilitating a regular migration pathway for eight Senegalese youths to work in the Lombardy region of Italy. Led by volunteer and cyclist Carlo Motta, the initiative focuses on teaching the Italian language to participants aged 23 to 36 in Mbao, a suburb of Dakar.

Funded through Fondimpresa, the project is spearheaded by IAL Lombardia in collaboration with CISL, FNP, ANOLF Sondrio, and various Senegalese partners. Several Lombardy-based companies have already committed to the program, with plans to hire the participants under one-year contracts upon their arrival in Italy.
