Teremoana Teremoana to face Hemi Ahio in Melbourne heavyweight bout

Australian heavyweight Teremoana Teremoana is scheduled to headline a Matchroom Boxing card in Melbourne on November 18. The undefeated Paris Olympian, currently 12-0 with nine first-round knockouts, will face New Zealander Hemi Ahio (25-1).

Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn stated that while the fight was originally planned for next year, the decision was made to provide Teremoana with a more challenging test sooner to help establish him as a future world champion.

In related boxing news, unbeaten cruiserweight champion Jai Opetaia is in discussions to make his heavyweight debut against former world champion Deontay Wilder. The bout is being considered for the December 11 undercard of the Tyson Fury versus Anthony Joshua fight at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium.
