Terence Atmane reveals fan used AirTag to track him in Rome

French tennis player Terence Atmane has revealed a disturbing incident involving a fan tracking his movements using an AirTag. The 24-year-old, currently ranked world number 45, recounted the experience in an interview with L’Equipe, noting that the event occurred in Rome.

Atmane reported feeling uncomfortable due to the constant presence of fans outside his hotel. The situation escalated when an individual knocked on his hotel room door. Upon investigation, Atmane discovered that an AirTag tracking device had been placed inside a bag left for him, allowing someone to monitor his location.

The incident highlights the increasing privacy challenges and social media pressures faced by professional athletes as their public profiles grow. Atmane’s rise in the ATP rankings, including a significant run at the Cincinnati Open, has brought heightened media and fan attention.
