Terence Crawford and Jaron Ennis exchange verbal jabs over rivalry

Terence Crawford and Jaron Ennis engaged in a heated verbal exchange during a DAZN broadcast of the Andy Ruiz Jr. vs. Damian Knyba fight. The confrontation centered on Ennis’s claim that facing Crawford would be ‘easy work,’ a comment Crawford directly challenged.

Crawford, a retired undefeated champion across five divisions, criticized Ennis’s recent performances and fighting style. He suggested that Ennis’s victory over Xander Zayas did not warrant excessive credit and expressed doubt regarding Ennis’s ability to handle high-pressure fighters like Vergil Ortiz Jr. or the volume of Sebastian Fundora.

Ennis defended his confidence, stating that elite fighters must believe they can defeat anyone. While Ennis has recently secured the WBA and WBO super-welterweight titles, Crawford argued that Ennis needs to prove himself against top-tier opposition in the 154-pound division to validate his standing. Ennis has expressed openness to a matchup with Crawford, should the former champion return to the ring.
