Terence Crawford defeats Canelo Alvarez to become three-weight undisputed champion

The bout drew a record crowd of 70,482 fans and generated over $47 million in ticket sales. Following the fight, Crawford opted to vacate his super-middleweight titles and retire from the sport with an undefeated record, despite subsequent lucrative offers to return.

Crawford’s trainer, Brian “BoMac” McIntyre, attributed the lack of a rematch to a contractual oversight by Alvarez, noting that no rematch clause was included in the original agreement.
